ASA103 BCC – Coastal Cruising

OVERVIEW:
Able to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered (inboard or outboard engine) keelboat of approximately 25 to 35 feet in length by day in moderate winds (up to 20 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather interpretation, safety, and seamanship.

PREREQUISITES:
ASA 101 – Keelboat 1
ASA 105 – Coastal Navigation (recommended)
And the ability to demonstrate competencies in all knowledge and skills elements of that Standard.

TRAINING YACHT:
25~30 ft sloop sailing boat (outsourcing)

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:
2~4 persons

RECOMMENDATIONS:
A minimum of 24 on-water sailing hours is required before undertaking ASA 103. The ASA 102, Keelboat Sailing 2 certification is not a pre-requisite for ASA 103, but it will help you to improve your sailing skills and is one way to log the necessary on-the-water sailing time.

UPON COMPLETION:
You will receive the ASA 103 Certification Sticker and duly signed by your instructor on the log book..
